Welcome to St Patrick’s
St Patrick’s is owned and operated by its members exclusively to meet their financial needs. We’re proud of our tradition of people helping people, and being a financial partner to members in all of the different communities we serve.
Building on our heritage with the ESB we are now proud to provide financial services to residential and business communities in Dublin 1, 2 & 4. This is a result of the Transfer of Engagements with Pearse Street and St. Laurence O'Toole Credit unions in 2015 and Ringsend & District and IndoGroup in 2016.
We thrive on making a difference and on being known as the place where you can get fair banking services designed to meet your needs.
We are regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland.

Our Credit Union was founded in October 1962. It started as an industrial credit union dedicated to the needs of ESB staff members, in humble surroundings, being operated out of the drawer of an engineering officer’s desk buried in the basement of the old Fitzwilliam Street buildings; and is now situated in its present splendid accommodation on Herbert Place.
The success story of St. Patrick’s can be attributed to many factors; the sound co-operative principles on which the Credit Union movement is based, the vision of the founder Directors, the dedication of Directors, Agents and Staff down through the years, and the co-operation of ESB management.
Since its foundation St. Patrick’s Credit Union has been controlled and managed by an elected Board of voluntary Directors, drawn from within the membership of the Credit Union, and to date over 70 individual members have served as Directors.
Growing Stronger, Moving Forward…Together
In May 2015 a Transfer of Engagement (ToE) process was completed and we were delighted to welcome Staff, Volunteers and Members of St. Laurence O’Toole and Pearse Credit Unions to St. Patrick’s Credit Union.
This historic and important event ensured that members of all three credit unions continued to receive the excellent customer service they have always enjoyed. Since then a further two ToE’s have seen the addition of Ringsend & District and IndoGroup Credit Unions to the St. Patrick’s family.
St Patrick’s now serves residents in a common bond comprising much of Dublin 1, 2 and 4. Building on our excellence as an employer credit union with ESB, we also offer employers in our common bond a suite of financial services tailored to the needs of their employees.
