Kathleen hangs up her pen!

St. Patrick’s Credit Union recently said goodbye to one of our longest serving members of staff, when Kathleen Humphreys (not Humphries as Kathleen often had to correct us) retired at the end of May.

Kathleen joined the Credit Union in March 2000 and was the face of the Credit Union for many members who came into the office at Herbert Place. She was also the first voice that members heard when they called looking for assistance. Both herself and Valerie Hand (who sadly passed away a number of years ago) were a formidable team who ensured that each member got the best member service possible. Kathleen is one of the most sincere, selfless and caring persons that anyone could hope to meet and she couldn’t do enough for members.

Kathleen will also be sorely missed as a good friend as well as a valued colleague and the craic at the staff nights out will not be the same; although the vodka and slimline tonics will breathe a sigh of relief, as she was known to sample an odd one or two.

With plenty of time on her hands now she will be able to go hill-walking with her husband Jim (though, her version of hillwalking is to sit by the pool or bar while Jim goes walking). She is also hoping to take up golf, so her patience and self-control will really come in handy there.

The Directors, Volunteers and Staff would like to say a huge thank you Kathleen, for your years of dedicated and loyal service and wish you and your family many long, happy and healthy years together in your retirement. We’ll miss you!
